Let's Get Back to Work

Obama is always so great in how he handles protesters. He doesn't lose his cool and he even seems to give them their say.

But after these protesters file out of the auditorium he says to the crowd: "Settle down everybody, lets get back to work." And I think this is what REALLY scares the Republicans about him. No matter what you say about him you can never say he isn't serious. And not like the John Kerry kind of serious where you think "God this guy is so friggin' boring!" But more like the one person in your group of friends that is always watching the clock and knows when it's time to go home because we all have to get up early and go to work. You know, not like a kill-joy as much as the one you know is always right - like there's no arguing with him, you just have to do what he says.

So when he says, "Let's get back to work," you think first "Do we have to?" But then "OK, I guess Barack's right. Let's get back to work." Dammit!

Y'know, I think I might have a little more respect for the old attack pilot bubba who can knock back just one more cold one, then still get up early and get the job done, hungover or not. Professor Obama gives me the heebie jeebies, in an "I really don't want to live in a socialist country" kind of way.

Really? "Attack pilot bubba?" Is that McCain? He flew a plane yes - a bomber I think, not a Top Gun like plane. But that doesn't matter, but I'm not ure he's a "bubba" - he's the son and grandson of Navy Admirals. And not pretend-Admirals either but Commander of the Pacific Theatre type Admirals. I think that's right, you can check my facts. But I see your point. I personally would prefer the professor. You know, the really, really smart guy. You honestly think America will ever be a "socialist" country? Unless what's going on at the moment counts as socialism. Bail out every bank that gets into a little trouble. Rebuild every the house for every dumbass who had the bright idea to build on top of the ocean...

Since you already know who I am and giving out more detailed information will no longer out me, let me just say that McCain flew an A-4 Skyhawk, an attack plane that was later used by Top Gun (funny that you mentioned that) and other adversary squadrons to simulate enemy fighters (see photo here: http://www.aircraftinformation.info/Images/A-4_02.jpg). It is quick and agile, and pilots who have flown it apparently love it. Indeed, it was flown by the Blue Angels for a number of years (http://www.blueangels.org/Aircraft/Stick/A4/1986/180.jpg) and is still flown by the Brazilian Navy today (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hksfz_vETUE&feature=related).

And yes, I think we are headed in a dangerously socialist direction.
